The Allendale School District is a community public school district that serves students in Kindergarten through eighth grade in the Borough of Allendale, in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States.

As of the 2009-10 school year, the district's two schools had an enrollment of 943 students and 65 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 14.51.[1]

The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "I", the second highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.[3]

There are two schools; one primary school (K-3) and one upper elementary school (4-8). The middle school program is located within the Brookside (4-8) building. The administration of the schools includes district-wide services through the Superintendent of Schools, the Board Secretary / Business Administrator and the Director of Special Services. Additionally, in each school the administration includes a Principal and at Brookside (4-8) also a Vice-Principal. The Allendale Public Schools are governed by a five member Board of Education elected to rotating three-year terms.

For high school, public school students move on to Northern Highlands Regional High School, which is for students in the 9th-12th grades from Allendale, Upper Saddle River, and Ho-Ho-Kus, and part of Saddle River.[4]
